The annual prize was awarded for B+C architects’ new office building “Les Horizons” .
Located in an area undergoing major transformation in Clichy (92-FR), the office building stands out with the green facades and completely modular internal spaces. In fact, the brief by the client and city of Clichy for the competition held in 2013 had asked for green facades.
B+C’s winning proposal was chosen because of its originality. Schemes normally integrate vertical green facades. For this project, the architect director Giovanni Bellaviti imagined “something a little bit less traditional”. In effect, each level is completely encircled by planted horizontal brise soleil.
The jury appreciated the quality of the work spaces, the quality of light, all combined with the important environmental performances achieved with a project certified BREEAM.
